The D.P.T.V. Networks Weekend Update

This past weekend, D.P.T.V. Networks partook in several HUGE events and artistic projects; each was chock full of community involvement, celebrity sightings and well-rounded entertainment!

Kicking off the fun-filled week and in conjunction with Louren Bates of Illmagine Media, Shomari Green of Gain-Green Productionz, had the privilege of sitting down with Uptown Magazine, along with the cast and crew of the riveting Broadway musical "Holler If Ya Hear Me", which is centered around certain legendary smash hits of the late Tupac Shakur.

Courtesy of Victoria Wells and the Dining Engagement Group, the evening continued with D.P.T.V. Network Affiliates covering the Evening of Fashion, Art and Music 'Afterwork Rooftop Party' held at The Rooftop 760 at Copacabana, 268 West 47th Street, NY, NY. This hip and happening event, was hosted by Maria Beard, courtesy of Ambassador at Society's Choice.

In addition to birthday celebrations for Dr. Shireen Fernandez', party-goers were given a sneak peak of the 2014 fall fashion line for NY native, Nippy Lavern, who discussed her clothing line in detail, during an invigorating interview with D.P.T.V. via Correspondent "LaChocolateBox". As well, partygoers were entertained with musical presentations by Miss Jewels of The Swarovski Group and other live performances by Roberta Barbosa BETA B. and Peter Shawn. Trendsetter artist, Sid Lopes featured pieces from his newest exhibit, titled 'New York Series and The Sinners' – and other influential personalities such as John Thomas of J.T. Talent along with actor Levensky Smith, who can be seen in stage productions such as "The Color Purple", "The Lion King" and "Cats" could be seen mingling and networking the entire night.

This spectacular weekend continued on with D.P.T.V. Networks Associates attending the 1st Annual PINK Pamper Expo and Fundraiser Hosted by TV One's R&B Divas, Monifah. This star studded/community based event was presented by Marketing and Public Relations, Nikkia Tené McClain, CEO of TENÉ NÍCOLE – and was sponsored by  POYED by Velvette and Pretty with a Purpose.

The Pink Pamper Expo was created to provide a day of shopping and pampering – this, in lieu of the impending Mother's Day weekend. Benefiting from this momentous occasion is People's Resource and Development Association (PraDA), an organization dedicated to social reform while serving and uplifting low income NYC residents as they strive to break the cycles of poverty. Various companies and business savvy women of color were encouraging and empowering one another. Rita from Papi wines was in attendance along with many other sponsors. This event was held at "Grind" located at 419 Park Avenue South, NY, NY.

D.P.T.V. Networks correspondent LaChocolateBox could also be found expressing another facet of her artistic talents - Photography!  LaChocolateBox via "LCB Imaging" (a D.P.T.V. Network affiliate and Gain-Green Productionz contributor)  completed a photo-shoot for an up and coming enterprise, "Selfish". This fashion centered company, which spotlight's personal styling and image consulting, is owned by NJ resident, Jenis Minaya (who was also the featured model in the weekend shoot).

Closing out the festivities D.P. (Digital Pro) of The D.P.T.V. Network and Shomari  Green of Gain-Green Productionz, traveled to Asbury Park NJ to attend the Showcase of Talent as presented by Mayor Myra Campbell, for The City of Asbury Park.  D.P.T.V. Networks Correspondent/Performance Spoken Word Artist LaChocolateBox, had the opportunity to not only perform live but as well, was granted an  exclusive  one-on-one interview with Mayor Campbell on the particulars of  youth and community involvement in future Performing Arts inspired events.
